Accreditation Information
It is of paramount importance to ensure quality assurance and continuous improvement in our educational activities. This aims to secure significant advantages, such as enhancing the quality of the vocational education received by students enrolled in the Banking and Insurance Program within the Department of Finance, Banking, and Insurance at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University’s Pazar Vocational School, and increasing the program's preference rate among prospective students.
Within the framework of Turkey's strategic development plans, the Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association (MEDEK) was established in 2021 with the encouragement and support of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Its purpose is to increase the qualifications of Vocational Schools and their graduates to contribute to a qualified workforce. As the authorized accreditation center for Vocational Schools, MEDEK is empowered in the field of accreditation and contributes to shaping the qualified workforce of the future by certifying that vocational school programs comply with designated standards, quality criteria, and performance measures.
Accreditation is an evaluation and external quality assurance process that measures whether the predetermined academic and field-specific standards set by the Council of Higher Education are met by the respective higher education program. Therefore, associate degree program accreditation serves as an instrument of academic quality, transparency, and accountability. The accreditation of Associate Degree Programs significantly contributes to the advancement of societal welfare by training better-educated and more highly qualified technicians who comprehend current and emerging technologies.
MEDEK accreditation will provide significant advantages to graduates in securing employment. In this context, the Banking and Insurance Program of the Department of Finance, Banking, and Insurance at Pazar Vocational School has entered the accreditation process with MEDEK, the authorized accreditation body for Vocational Schools in our country. The preliminary application has been accepted, the self-evaluation report has been uploaded to the system, and a site visit (field evaluation) is expected in October 2025.
